Power of Pattern Tying and Dying
Enjoy a guided tour of The Power of Pattern: The Ayako Mitsui Collection and have fun using the techniques of tying and clamping creating your own powerful patterns on a tote bag to take home.
When: Monday 28 September – Friday 2 October, 10am, 11.30am (for 5 to 8-year-olds) and 1pm (for 9 to 12-year olds)
Where: Radford Auditorium
Cost: $10 per child.

Power of Pattern Exploring Shibori
Experience the art of shibori dying in the school holidays in this introductory workshop inspired by the display The Power of Pattern: The Ayako Mitsui Collection. Participants will explore shibori techniques of fabric gathering, sewing, clamping and pole wrapping learning how to design and create intricate patterns on fabric using natural dyes to make a tote bag or cushion cover.
When: daily workshops at 10am – 1pm, Tuesday 6 – Thursday 8 October 2015
Age suitability: (13-16 year olds).
