School Holiday Programs

Our School Holiday Programs offer fun and dynamic opportunities for children to explore their creativity in response to works of art on display at the Art Gallery.
Join practicing artists and specialist children’s guides for a chance to experience, discuss and make works of art.

School Holiday Workshops, Gooroo Animation
Monday 29, Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 April, Stop Motion (Claymation) workshops
Thursday 23 & Friday 24 April, Flipbook Creation workshops

The GooRoo Animation workshops program teaches kids how to create their own flipbooks and claymation movies. It provides a great introductory understanding of the craft of animation. Students create their own plasticine character and make it come to life using the animation software readily available on iPads and iPods. At the end the animations are played back to the other groups, parents, friends and family on the big screen. They will also get a behind the scenes look at GooRoo characters and films, observe a live stop-motion demonstration, understand the different animation styles, see how animation has changed since the early days of Walt Disney, and of course... have lots of fun.
