2014 ADELAIDE BIENNIAL OF AUSTRALIAN ART: DARK HEART

The Adelaide Biennial is the country’s longest running survey of contemporary Australian art and represents the Art Gallery of South Australia’s dedication to showcasing up-to-the-minute works by Australian artists.
The 2014 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Dark Heart , curated by Art Gallery of South Australia’s Director, Nick Mitzevich, features photography, painting, sculpture, installation and the moving image.
Delivering their brave new visions are artists Ah Xian, Tony Albert, Brook Andrew, Del Kathryn Barton, Martin Bell, Ian Burns, eX de Medici, Shoufay Derz, Julia deVille, Dale Frank, Tony Garifalakis, Fiona Hall, Brendan Huntley, Kulata Tjuta Project from Tjala Arts, Rosemary Laing, Richard Lewer, Fiona Lowry, Dani Marti, Trent Parke, Ben Quilty, Caroline Rothwell, Alex Seton, Sally Smart, Ian Strange, Warwick Thornton and Lynette Wallworth, Antony and Martu Artists.
Patricia Piccinini’s Skywhale also makes an appearance in Adelaide over the opening weekend and the work of Adelaide based sculptor and installation artist Julia Robinson reshapes The Studio activity space.

The Adelaide Biennial is a flagship visual arts event of the Adelaide Festival and in 2014 runs alongside Adelaide International, curated by Richard Grayson.
